CNC MACHINIST

Router Table & Steel Roll Forming

Non-Exempt, Hourly Position

Full-Time

CNC machinists make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product. CNC machinists make sure their machines are working at full capacity, are stocked with needed materials, well-maintained and perform periodic checks on output. They look at the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production. Production is currently running first shift Monday – Friday 7:00 – 3:15. Overtime may be available at times. Start times of the shift may fluctuate by an hour, but advance notice will be provided.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to read and understand shop drawings
  • Must be able to perform preventative and daily maintenance on equipment
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot machine issues, perform repairs and resolve equipment issues as they occur
  • Works from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console settings for operations and occasional profiling and contouring
  • Verify programming and material/component matches the data/program
  • Maintain traceability of job data, files, materials, components, quality control data
  • Verify tooling and setup of job on the machines
  • Maintain the quality of the manufactured product to required specifications utilizing a variety of hand tools
  • Follow and completes QA/QC checklists
  • Must be able to follow work instructions and work independently with limited supervision
  • Function as a member of a work team by contributing and initiating quality, safety and productivity ideas
  • Communicate appropriately to avoid unplanned downtime including problems, trends, maintenance, etc.
  • Performs other necessary duties as directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School degree
  • Lifts 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in roll-forming, CNC routing required. 5 years preferred
  • Possess a mechanical and technical ability
  • Must adhere to the company’s attendance policy
